Are you throwing a Super Bowl or an Oscars party this year? if you're going to be cooking while your guests are arriving don't worry about christening your game day gear or chic award worthy frock with guacamole - that's what aprons are for.  Just because you're cooking & entertaining at home you don't have to look homely - long gone are the days of house dresses & shapeless aprons thanks to the super sweet options that sometimes I wish were really a whole dress instead of looking just like the front of one!

Recently, I was at Walgreens buying tape & wrapping paper. I saw this Marie Claire January 2013 cover with Lea Michele on it & I couldn't stop staring at it. I loved the colors.

I loved them so much that I made this mini color inspiration board & virtually shopped for pieces that would make up an outfit with these unique color combos. What do you think? Would you wear apple red, mint green, gold, taupe & black together?

Polka Dot Confection Perfection

Any dress that can make you feel like Marilyn when the wind blows is a keeper in my book.  That's why I've decided to keep this dress that my sister lent me (ha ha just kidding, well not really, tee hee I'll give it back I promise).  I wore this sweet little confection of a dress to Marie's baby shower.  It's the perfect amount of lady who lunches with enough fun details (& a plunging neckline) that it doesn't make it stuffy. I kept the accessories to a minimum & let the dots do the talking.

Hot Pink Dress Combo

This dress is easily my favorite closet addition this summer.  It's super wearable & fun.  I love the hot pink color & the pockets (!!!!).  It's surprisingly versatile & has been my go to "wedding" dress this season.  Check out more photos after the jump to see how I traded these neutral accessories for bolder ones. Recently inspired by a photo my gal pal Amanda posted on facebook of her little girl having a tea party with her baby brother, I thought it would be fun to dream one up for myself. Of course at my tea party there would be coffee as well as tea (both hot & iced).

I really think I need these latte bowls in my life - they are just so cute & I'm in love with the idea of wrapping my hands around a little bowl of a frothy latte.  Then for the really hot days I would need these coffee bean shaped ice cube molds for  my iced coffee cubes (to drink with these pretty straws of course!).   And who doesn't love honey in a little pot like winnie the pooh or this teapot set that  reminds me of my cousins.  Naturally there would have to be a cute outfit based on this cute apron two of my best friends gifted me for my bridal shower that I wear in real life not just in my tea party dreams.

What will you have? Coffee? Tea? Me?
