Polka Dot Confection Perfection

dress: Anthropologie; shoes: Ann Taylor

Any dress that can make you feel like Marilyn when the wind blows is a keeper in my book.  That's why I've decided to keep this dress that my sister lent me (ha ha just kidding, well not really, tee hee I'll give it back I promise).  I wore this sweet little confection of a dress to Marie's baby shower.  It's the perfect amount of lady who lunches with enough fun details (& a plunging neckline) that it doesn't make it stuffy. I kept the accessories to a minimum & let the dots do the talking.

Thanks for the dress Penny :)

Sweet Little Lambie Baby Shower Inspiration

My mother-in-law, Mary, has done it again. She's outdone any baby shower I've ever been too.  The theme of the shower was sweet lambies to coordinate with Marie's nursery at home.  From a spectacular cake that was every bit delicious as it was beautiful to a wreath made of diapers to cookies in the shape of lambs, Mary  knocked that it of the park with every last detail .  She really did think of everything.  I thought I'd post it to share it with the world who needs some baby shower inspiration.
Here's the proud mama-to-be, Marie & her proud mama, Mary.
Check out more of these sweet details after the jump.

Very Hungry Caterpillar Baby Shower Gift

Yesterday we celebrated my adorable & very pregnant sister-in-law, Marie.  Above is the gift that I crafted up for my new niece or nephew.  Clearly, it was inspired by the book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, which was also the base of the stack of gifts.  Click through to see more photos of how I made this baby shower gift, plus my favorite part of this gift.

A "Ready to Pop" Baby Shower

My dear friend is almost "ready to pop" these days as she is expecting her first baby (girl!). I couldn't be more excited and jumped on the party planning band wagon at the mention of her baby shower. After picking up some general craft materials and fabrics at AC Moore, I starting making the decorations for Lindsey's "ready to pop" baby shower. We decided to keep the decor bright and cheery with hot pinks, sunny yellows and limey greens. I was of course pinning on pinterest everyday to see if there were any other baby shower must-haves.

The decorations, food and smiling faces made for a really special day.
