Belt Bags

Two words: belt bag. I know.  I know it looks & sounds a lot like a fanny pack that many of us probably remember wearing in our youth & never wanting to look back. Well I’m looking back & learning from it. Turns out a bag belt is pretty much a great idea. I love cross body bags so that my arms are free & bag belts offer the same thing except you can really work them into an outfit like a belt. 

Picture yourself at a cocktail party with a sassy clutch under your arm a cocktail in one hand & a mini crab cake in your other, all of a sudden the clutch falls the floor. Do you put your drink down or swallow your hors d’oeuvre whole? You probably wish you had a belt bag - I know I would in this scenario so that is why I’ve been perusing the inter webs for the perfect belt bag that looks like a classy belt but has the chicness of a cute clutch.

I think it's only fitting that I blog about rings today. One of my best gals just got engaged and got some some gorgeous finger candy to boot (congrats Alice! Can't wait to celebrate!). Also in less than a month's time one of my first friends & life long best friends, my cousin will be tying the knot.  (My) wedding season is just about to begin and I'm pretty excited about it.

I'm also excited by these mini digit rings.  They are my new favorites (aside from my engagement ring and wedding band of course). Digit rings are a growing trend or at least in my world they are. My sister bought two beauties at CatBird in Brooklyn.  I immediately loved her shiny rose gold finger bling and needed my own (yes needed). I didn't have any planned trips to Brooklyn in the near future (or the budget for identical rings to my twin) so I hit the next best place, Etsy.  I'd been wearing my thin hammered band on my right ring finger regularly and though some digit rings would pair nicely with it.  I found this one and this one  at Kriya's Etsy store. Besides being just what I was looking for these little beauties were only $10 each!

PS: My Zoya manicure is 4 days old - not too shabby if you ask me.

Camel Colored Accessories

I remember when I was in college, many years ago (eeeeks!) & my bestie, Amanda, bought a pair of camel colored boots. We both ogled ‬at them agreeing that they were indeed a must-have despite collegiate credit card debt. When Amanda would try them on we also both agreed that they looked a little cowgirlish (not the look at the time) so they would stay nice & unscathed (read: unworn) at the apartment. It seems as though we just didn't know what to do with that color, yet we were still drawn to it.

That was then, this is now. I can't believe my life without camel colored accessories. They go with everything - or at least I think so.  I hope you still have those boots Amanda, they (& you!) were ahead of our closets :)

Florals are on the menu for spring. I plan to get adventurous by mixing florals with other florals. I would take this outfit from day to night by changing up my accessories & throwing my hair in a loose top knot for the evening to show off that pretty ear candy.

Peter Pan Collar

I love this minty green peter pan collar (that was *ahem* under six bucks at Forever 21!).  It adds a lot to a simple top & is quite the conversation piece.  Is it part of the shirt? Is it really metal, or is it soft?
