When it's hot, the last thing I'm going to do is blow dry my hair, so I braid it instead. All you need for this messy braided nest is a comb, some clear rubber bands, bobby pins, some hairspray & patience!
Read on to learn the simple steps to this braided updo for hot days or any days.
- Divide hair evenly with a comb & create two braids (go a step further & make two reverse braids for that extra je ne sais quoi). Secure each braid at its end with a small clear rubber band.
- Take the braid on the left & wrap it under & over the other braid like a figure eight. Secure along the edges with bobby pins.
- Repeat step two with the braid on the right wrapping the reverse way so that the braids are twisted together. Secure the bobby pins. Tuck rubber banded ends in neatly so that the bands aren't visible.
- Finish with a veil of hairspray. I like Not Your Mothers (because it has a fun name & it works!).
