Favorite Way to Sip: Cuppow

I don't know why I ever stopped using a sippy cup (I hope I'm not the only "adult" that asks herself this question). I'm a dribbler, always have been probably always will be, but now I can embrace it with grace with my Cuppow lid.  My sister found this marvel of a product (of course she did, she always finds the cool stuff).  When I got wind of hers I naturally responded "I want one" (waaaaaah!). Lucky for me my sister had a mason jar & a cuppow lid for me the very next day (yes I have a great sister).

So let's get to why I am obsessed with my new adult sippy cup.

  1. It's asy to fill & with the wide mouth of the jar I can easily stuff it full of iced cubes for my iced coffee or just water.
  2. A straw fits in the hole in the lid - you know for a classy, sophisticated look.
  3. It's easy to clean.
  4. It's a pretty fantastic conversation piece while commuting (ok no one has asked me about it YET but I know they're just eyeing up my Cuppow with envy).
  5. The name is Cuppow - so you can pretend you're part of an old school Batman episode while you sip.
Happy Friday! I'm off to enjoy adult beverages in sippy cups with some of my bestest friends from childhood, what are you doing?

A Housewarming Gift in a Jar

This past week I had the pleasure of dining at chateau Alice, my very cool & fancy culinary friend. She & her beau just moved into this perfectly sun-drenched apartment in NYC.  (More on the yummy eats & recipes from Alice to come) In hopes to bring a gift that Alice (the girl who has everything) didn't seem to have I went the practical route & crafted up this gift of useful household stuff in a glass jar that she could use right away & not worry about storing.  I was definitely pinspired by something I'd seen on pinterest. It was really easy & fun to make! Best of all (I think) Alice loved it!
Ingredients:
Make it!
  1. Choose a message & spell it out with the alphabet stickers on the side of the glass jar. I found these in the scrapbook aisle at Target.
  2. Roll up one dish towel & nestle it in the jar.
  3. Arrange all of the other products neatly inside the jar.
  4. Use the second towel in place of tissue paper, wrap it & gift it in a cute gift bag.
Check out some more how-to photos after the jump!

An Eat Me Center Piece

Every week we stock up on a bunch of fresh fruits and veggies.  Most of the time they rot simply because they've been buried under something in the fridge.  I love this jar for it's cute little chalkboard label that you can write something cheeky with each change of season or your mood.  I chose "eat me" - I thought it was a good and direct reminder to do just that.  This jar doubles as a center piece to keep your kitchen bright with the natural orange color of (well) the oranges - the color of the year.

How do you store your fresh fruit?
