A New Found Love: Moleskin

Ok the words mole and skin don't sound particularly lovely but believe me moleskin is wonderful! I was catching up with my friend Christine (she's the fancy pants blogger you may know as MyStylePill) and the word moleskin came up. I had been seeing and reading about moleskin lately on The Beauty Department and Pinterest but I really was still left clueless as to what exactly it was.

Christine filled me in. Apparently this super soft felt fabric with a sticky backing has been waiting in the section of your local pharmacy right next to the shoe inserts and those weird corn ring-thingies.  Moleskin comes in sheets so you have to cut it but that takes mere seconds.  Per Christine's advice, cut some strips up and stow them in your bag.  If you feel your new or old shoe rubbing you the wrong way grab a strip that you've pre-cut, peel off the backing and stick it right to your skin.  You can stick it directly to your shoe as well. I tried it directly on my heel and it gave the right amount of cushion and didn't budge all day.

The best part is that you can pick it up at your local CVS or Duane Reade or which ever pharmacy is in your hood for under 5 bucks.  Pretty amazing.  Try it and thank me later (I'll thank Christine now - Thank You!), you'll never have to fear breaking in new shoes again!
